You may remember our Children’s Service Project (now called Kids Helping Kids) that focused on raising money to purchase bed nets for kids in Congo. Bed nets are an inexpensive and simple way to protect kids from mosquito bites, which can transmit malaria. Malaria is a life-threatening disease that takes the largest number of lives of children in Congo under the age of five. Bed nets, which cost just $10 a piece, protect children while they sleeping from the deadly insect.
We recently received new photos from the project, depicting the 11,000 bed nets that were purchased from funds raised by this project. That’s a lot of nets and a lot of lives saved!
Does anyone know where we can obtain a couple of these nets? We want to use them as part of a visual display in worship as part of our Covenant Kids Congo emphasis. We’ve contacted everyone we know and all report that no nets are available for such purposes.

Decorative bed nets are available at many stores (World Market/ Cost Plus used to have them). They are not truly bed nets, but they work for a display or to have as an example.
