Summer Gig

Would you like to spend the summer making a difference?

Merge is going to have a big summer in 2013! They will need a full summer staff to be able to support all of the teams going. Merge will need people based in Mexico, Guatemala and in the Dominican Republic. They are looking for interpreters, construction supervisors and food coordinators/people ministry assistants. This is a great opportunity for college students who have a passion for missions, demonstrate leadership skills, and a desire to work with youth!

The summer staff at Merge will have the chance to grow personally and spiritually — surrounded by people from all over the world. You’ll have a chance to try new things and spend some quality time in the most beautiful places on God’s earth. You’ll also be challenged to take your faith to a new level and learn how to serve like Jesus. Giving you the feeling of being refreshed by the people you’ve impacted during the summer.

If you have interest in serving with Merge this summer, please contact Dale at dale.lusk@covchurch.org.

Looking for an intern?

While attending Youth Worker Connection, be sure to take advantage of your opportunities to connect with one another. The room where you complete the registration process and pick up your materials for our time together will also house a bulletin board where you can post what openings you have at your church, or in your organization…Students! Bring along your resume if you are looking for an internship/position!

There will be a number of students from North Park University and Theological Seminary assisting us throughout the event, many of whom are now, or soon will be, seeking internships and positions. Make your need known and perhaps even consider if you might be able to serve as a mentor for these individuals who are discerning and clarifying their call to ministry…the possibilities are nearly endless!

Let’s help one another write the next chapter together…

A: “Here are a few suggestions:

Those are some initial suggestions. If you have more specific information/topics that will help in the search, let me know.”

Eric Landin – Pastoral Intern, Cedarcreek Covenant Church, Maple Valley, WA

In my 16 months of youth ministry as an NPTS intern, I have learned that many of our students don’t know the classic Bible stories – the ones branded into your young impressionable mind as a child in Sunday School. And even those who do know the stories are silenced when you ask them a big question, like, “What is the Bible about?”

Tragically, our students don’t see the big picture of the Bible: the story that started at the beginning and is continued in our lives today, the story of a God who is Creator, Sustainer, Lover, and Redeemer of all that is.
