WORSHIP SYMPOSIUM

Last month Tim was able to attend a Worship Symposium at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. This symposium is hosted annually by the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship (CICW) and this year brought together over 1500 participants from all over the US, Canada, and from approximately 40 other countries. Tim was invited to be part of a team from Japan, made up of 9 Japanese worship leaders, pastors, and missionaries. It was a great time of worship and learning… for Tim’s more detailed report and some photos check out our blog HERE.

ANDREA’S CONTINUING STUDIES

In just another couple weeks Andrea will be heading down to Cannon Beach, OR for her final intensive study session with other members of her DMin cohort (Feb. 29 – March 10). By May she will have completed the two years of coursework and then have the dissertation left to write. Thanks for supporting her with prayer as she winds down this portion and continues to fine-tune the preparation and topic for her dissertation.

THANKS FOR STANDING WITH US…

As you all know we are in our 2nd year of an extended home assignment as we attempt to discern what God has for our futures. Our parents and our children are playing a big part in our decision. Thanks for standing with us in prayer during this important (but occasionally agonizing) period. We hope to have some details and decisions to share with you in next month’s bulletin.

Thanks for so many encouraging words and indications of your faithful prayer work on our behalf. We love being on a team with you.

So do not fear, for I am with you;

do not be dismayed, for I am your God

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

Here is our “Japan Team” that attended the worship symposium as we said our final goodbyes at the hotel. Larry Spalink (CRC missionary), Nancy Nethercott (TEAM missionary), and myself made up the “missionary” part of the group.Japan Team (1)
