Back from Japan…On to Oregon & Illinois

Monthly Prayer Bulletin for October 2015

Last Month….

  • Tim had a great trip from 9/18-28 to Japan. It was a wonderful chance to connect with mission team, Japanese colleagues, and many other friends. (see a few photos below)
  • Thanks for remembering the rest of our gang in prayer as they all started up their school years. Sam is living with 8 other guys in a house near the UW campus and loving it…along with his courses. Lilla has started her classes at Cascadia Community College (finishing high school while earning college credit) and continues working part-time at a local supermarket. Sky is well into his 8th grade school year… he may be the busiest of all – playing both tennis and soccer, refereeing soccer on Saturdays, and playing in the Jazz Band (practices at 7 a.m.!) Andrea connects online each week with teachers and cohorts from her doctoral program…and reads and writes a lot.

This Month…

  •  Tim will be visiting 5 of our Chicago area supporting churches from October 9-17.
  • Andrea will once again travel down to Cannon Beach, OR to meet for an intensive 10-day study period with teachers and colleagues in her doctoral program from October 19-29.
  • Even while back here in the US and feeling some distance from Japan…..we pray regularly for our mission team there as well as try to pray and stay involved in new things around us here….. would you join us this month in praying for 2 church planting efforts that are really exciting to us?

1. Tokyo Life ChurchTLC is a congregation planted by the Highrock Church of Boston and the Kurume Bible Fellowship in Tokyo, being birthed as a new member of the Japan Covenant Church and being led by colleagues Grant & Miho Buchholtz. We love the teamwork! Tim was able to worship with them in Tokyo on 9/27.
2. Bothell Covenant ChurchBCC is a new church being planted by the Pacific Northwest Conference of the ECC in Bothell, WA with involvement from several area congregations and led by Bill and Claire Strunk. Since our Woodinville home is right next door to Bothell we’ve been able to participate in several of their activities. We get excited about seeing this new work and how lives are being changed.

Thanks for prayers and comments from many of you each month. We love being on a team with you! Scroll down for a few photos from the past month…

Tokyo Life Church meets on Sunday mornings at a restaurant in Ikebukuro, one of the busiest areas of Tokyo. Tim joined them on September 27th.

BCC teamOn September 20th Tim was able to meet with the folks at the Isesaki Church. It was great to see everyone again after 14 months…

During his trip to Japan Tim was able to be up at Akagi Bible Camp for one night. Here is a shot at dusk, looking down on the lakes that are located at 1400 meters on top of the mountain. A gorgeous moment.
