Closer to Argentina…..

July has been a very full month to say the least.  We’ve been busy with yard sales, selling Max’s truck, transitioning out of full time work, and a road trip to Alberta.  Max painted pretty much the entire upstairs of the Nelson Covenant Church.  It’s very colourful now… that’s what you get when you ask a missionary to South America to pick the colours.

We started the month in Riondel at Kootenay Christian Bible Camp and then travelled to Breton, Strathmore and Rosebud Alberta.  We had opportunities to meet leaders, mission committees, made a lot of new friends, and reconnected with old friends from Alive.

KCBC – We had a great time at camp sharing about missions with the youth! Frisbee Golf and making candles too!

Breton Faith Covenant Church – We spent 2 wonderful days having fantastic conversations about Global Engagements and sharing meals with so many new friends.  Thank you Lila and Eli for the hospitality, we look forward to having more late night conversations.

Strathmore Hope Community Covenant Church – This was a full week of being missional with kids at VBS. ‘Donde esta el oso?’  We also had opportunities to share about our mission with many!  Thank you Sally & Dan for looking after us!

Rosebud Church – This church is located in a very unique part of Alberta and we were able to share an evening of conversation and prayer during our week at Strathmore.  Thank you again Ray for the tickets to the Badlands Passion Play – this is not to be missed if you’re in the area in July!

We are so encouraged by the conversations we had with all.  Thank you to all who have commited to pray for us.  We are grateful for the financial support that has followed and are excited to have people join with us on this journey!

What’s Up Right Now …..

Saskatchewan and Manitoba…here we come….

We will be visiting Covenant churches around Saskatchewan and Manitoba over the next few weeks.

While we are happy to talk about our Mission to Argentina, we want to learn about everyone’s mission priorities and how we can develop a stronger partnership.  We love to share what the ECCC and Merge is doing.

Don’t forget – Merge has a Seeds trip to Bariloche, Argentina Oct 21-30th!

We are arranging storage for the items we are leaving behind and figuring out what to pack with us.  Language studies will be in Guatemala and we have been researching different options there.

Next Steps …. and …. Prayer Items

As we prepare to move to Argentina for two years we will be:
Downsizing and storing a few of our personal items – yes, that includes the KLRs 🙂

Prayer for the completion of the house sale

Prayer for our travels around Canada – for safety, connections, and fruitfulness
Continuing with Language Studies here in Canada and then heading to Guatemala for much more intensive studies

Fundraising – We are in the process of looking for people and churches who would like to partner and support us in the mission field.   We are required to raise in funds and pledges, 80% of our budget.  Your pledges are an answer to prayer.  Please don’t forget to return your pledge cards so that the ECCC can track things.  Thank you!

IPEA – Iglesia del Pacto Evangelical Argentina – as they prepare for us to arrive and to serve them
