Miles and his tennis team mates competed in the regionals on Wednesday and Thursday at a country club in Denver. He was the 2nd seed and had a bye in the first round. Then he took on the third seed in the second round and came out on top after a well fought battle. He returned on Thursday to play for the championship against a very tough opponent who is ranked 3rd in the state. He got off to a rocky start, losing the first set 2-6. But the momentum changed in the second set and he took a lead at 4-3 but just couldn’t finish it off. He ended up losing that set 4-6 and placing 2nd in the tournament.
But the good news is that his 2nd place finish qualified him to go to the state tournament next week along with the other 15 best high school players in the state. His team finished 3rd overall in the regional tournament.
