One day not long ago I was standing on the veranda at the front of the school. I happened to look down and I saw what looked to be a pretty white flower on the banana plant. That seemed really strange, since bananas have very small inconspicuous flowers in general.
So what was it? When I walked down the steps, I saw it was not a flower at all but a banana (the fruit) that had split open to reveal it’s flesh. This type of banana is not edible until it splits itself open ripe, revealing its soft and tasty flesh as well as some rather large seeds.
