After the following initial news item we have learned that 151 people lost their lives in this violence in Malakal last week. Rev. Abraham Tuach Kier, President of the ECC of Sudan, reported that some Covenanters and their relatives were killed. We do not know how many Covenanters died. Many people were left homesless and displaced by the violence. Since the incidents last week things have calmed down.
