18 graduate from UPU with Masters degrees
Today was the 7th UPU (Ubangi Protestant University) graduation ceremony. 18 graduated with their Masters degrees; 6 from the school of theology and 12 from the school of economic sciences. in additional 17 students received their Batchelors degrees. In the Congolese system the first degree is a Graduate (G3) after 3 years of study and the second a License (L2) after an additional 2 years. Batchelors and Masters are the rough equivalents.

Cindy and I attended, and sweated through, the 3 hr 10 min service. Overall it was dignified with the only lapse being the way the photographers handled themselves and the attendees desire to immediately go celebrate with their graduate.

Mama Balabala graduated with a Masters in Economy, the management of businesses.

always a LOT of photographers crowding in to get pictures
A common practice for those graduating is to put white powder on their heads. In this case it was a white spray foam.
