About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.

Keeping busy

Not being able to travel all over the states this year to visit churches has left us with free time on our hands.  We are enjoying volunteering, at a local food pantry, and also at our town’s main vaccination clinic.  …

Winter is over and spring is here!

In Indiana, we enjoyed some lovely periods of snow, for the sheer beauty of the crystal white expanse, but also for the fun of it, igloos and sledding included!

We are very ready for spring now though.  Josh and Kimia …

Back 2 Eden, South Africa

While we in Indiana are just beginning to see a bit of green grass and some crocus or daffodills blooming soon, South Africa is in full bore end of summer, with fruits and flowers galore.  We are pleased to hear …

Maple syrup! Yum!

A friend let our son, Josh, know that the maple sap was running, so he and Roy got busy drilling holes in the trees.  They ended up with about 50 gallons of sap,

which, when boiled down over 2 full …

CAR news

The news from CAR is sometimes great, sometimes sad.  CEFA has been having village meetings

and has been keeping up the farm production and harvest, like these piles of coffee beans to spread and dry and process

But then there’s …
