California March 17 – April 7

What a whirlwind trip!  I got my dental implant put in, the 2 appointments being the bookends for my 3 week stay in California.  I was able to get down to my sister’s in So. Calif. and spend some time with her.  We talked and laughed and did a lot of emptying of drawers and closets at our stepmom’s; and then the sorting started.  Lots of stuff, files and photos, lots of choices about what to keep for business and what to keep for sentimental reasons.

My sister delighted with a photo of the cousins

I was blessed by being able to visit with dear friends throughout my trip, some coming to me as I cared for Mom – thank you Mike & Mindy, Launa & Robin, and Sue Mc-S, and then as I drove to and from So. Calif., thank you Launa & Steve & fam, Carol & Vernon, Lynn & Thea, and by happenstance, Dave & Modesto Cov peeps.  We look forward to a couple of weeks in California in July to see more friends and family again.

Thank you for your prayers over my stepmom’s passing and for my travels. I definitely had angels watching over me on my return home; I almost missed my flight!

The contrast of leaving chilly gray and brown Indiana and walking into California colorful spring was wonderful.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
