Wow this has been a very busy week for Roy, working with the gardening group from Cornwall, England, People and Gardens, (click to see their website). They are a group for helping people, specifically those with special needs, to help themselves with dignity, and they came to our area to take part in a few of the Genesis Hope’s programs. Roy and another volunteer here, Tim, worked along side them in the establishment of grow bags (which they knew very well from England) and planting fruit trees (which was a new thing for them) at the training center’s garden plot.
They came out to the Back 2 Eden farm for a visit and a meal,
and were able to go to a nearby special needs school and a nursery school, to plant trees and interact with the kids. Roy had just started working with the special needs school, but the nursery school is an established contact, and he was very pleased to see trees growing and a new veggie plot to help with.
Our visitors were a sweet and energetic crew and it was a pleasure to be with them. Please pray that their time with us made an impact on their hearts.
