Byron Amundsen, Covenant Mission’s Director of Administration and Finance, is here at Gamboula visiting for a few days. He is in the middle of an Africa tour, having just come from Congo and soon to continue on to Cameroon. He’s wearing his “administration” hat more than his “finance” one, as he hopes to encourage all of us Africa Covenant missionaries and colleagues in the areas of safety and security. We were praying for him to be able to arrive by plane, and permission was granted by the gov’t. Thank you, Lord! Four hours of flying are better than a minimum of 25 hours of driving plus untold hours for crossing rivers and borders and waiting at rain barriers etc. etc. We are thankful for the possibility or riding in mission based airplanes. Of course, out at our dirt airstrip, we have to create our own gas station so that the pilot can fly extended miles and carry extra freight weight if need be. Byron pitched in with Roy to help fuel the plane.
Welcome, Byron! Even if you have to work a little to earn your keep!!
