Beginnings and UCC invite

In less than 2 months’ time we will be retired.  We have been so blessed over these past 43 years – yes, we left for Zaire from Davis, California in May of 1978!   University Covenant Church, UCC, in Davis nurtured us from 1975-1978, and when a young missionary from Imeloko, Zaire, came asking for an agriculturalist and a nurse, we felt led, called, blessed, joyful, and at peace, ready to sign up and go.  They sent us out with their blessing, supported us and our projects graciously with care, prayer, and funds, and now they want to bless us again as we enter a new phase of life.  UCC’s GO team is preparing a celebration the weekend of July 17-18, so if you are in or want to be in the vicinity of Davis, California, at 9 am, Saturday, July 17, please join us!!  We are overwhelmed with the love lavished on us, and we give thanks to our God, for his provision and grace.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
