CEFA’s future

CEFA’s contract workers are having meetings to brainstorm about the future of the farm and extension work.  Funding will most likely be there through 2020, and they must dream big into this next phase.  They are bringing in income from farm products, but they have to decide how to manage the project.

Roy presented the calendar, explaining to all about our date of definitive departure from CAR at the end of August 2019, and the continuation of funding through 2020.  on the blackboard below, underneath the dates, the French reads “feasibility study vs. uncertainty”.

There was plenty of interaction and suggestions, and they’ll have their next meeting May 21, having had a couple of weeks to mull over what was presented and talked about.   Please pray for the CEFA employees, that they would come up with a reasonable plan that not only survives but serves the community and shines God’s love.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
