We’re going to Kansas City, Kansas City here we come!

We were in Kansas City, not to see the Royals, but to attend Christian Veterinary Missions annual conference, called “Shortcourse”.  CVM put us up at the retreat center and fed us royally AND gave us the opportunity to share with various groups of vets who want to serve overseas, some day, in some capacity.  We were blessed by the faithfully strong and warm leadership: Fred,

and Brad.

We reconnected with our friend, Denise, a vet, who is now married to an ag guy named Roy!  Go figure!  They are looking into going overseas, relatively soon, and we’re praying for the Lord’s direction in their lives (of course you can guess what we’re hoping for!!)blog CVM DeniseRoy

We made new friends, like Hillary and Mike, who also are hoping to serve in Africa, but are still in school.  They really desire to work among unreached peoples, and we can certainly come up with an idea for them, but again, we want to pray for the Lord to lead them!blog CVM HillaryMikeWe had a great time at the conference, interacting with many there as well as getting some healthy input into how we need to be focusing on our walk with God.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
