The beach!!!

We recently had a wonderful 10 days of complete relaxation at the beach with dear friends Tim and Helen Smith.  We laughed and played games, ate alot, walked on the beach and watched movies, ate alot, did puzzles and some of us body surfed, ate alot, and did I mention we ate alot???  (Roy and I each came home with at least 5 extra pounds that, well, they weren’t in our suitcases!)

We kind of were diehards to finish one of the puzzles by flashlight

If you look closely you can see the evidence of a body surfing crash on Tim’s forehead.  We are so thankful his immediate symptoms subsided over time, that first hour was a prayer filled one as he recovered from whiplash like symptoms along with possible concussion.

And, of course, here’s Roy, Johnny Appleseed of Africa!  His pockets and arms are full of tropical almonds – very tasty if a little difficult to get to.  You need to pound on the shell with a rock or hammer to get to the small coconut tasting inner nut.  Hey, if you go for a walk without a bag, Mr. Danforth, be careful not to lose your shorts from pockets filled too full!!!!

We thank the Lord for the gifts of friends and fun and awesome places to be.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
