While we live in the city, we live up the mountain a bit and one of the things we love about where we live is the nature around us. We are woken up daily by the sound of birds chirping. We watch the hummingbirds come and go and the squirrels jump from tree to tree.
There is one bird that has a very unique (and by unique I mean terrible) call. It is the guacharaca and I had never heard of it before moving here. But it is a very common bird for this area. The first time I heard it I had no idea what it was. And then I saw it in my yard. Yikes!! Those who have visited know what bird I’m talking about as it “sings” many times before the sun rises. So here you have it…the guacharaca. In the first video all you can hear is the song and in the second I was able to capture a video of the bird up close.
