More than an annual meeting

This past weekend over 50 youth and young adults came together in Bogota for the annual meeting of the Association of Colombian Covenant Youth. This organization works with the different youth ministry initiatives in the Covenant Church of Colombia, helping to foster youth ministry, discipleship, social projects, and leadership development. It was this organization that organized and hosted the Certificate course in Peace and Reconciliation in 2017. In 2018, the leaders from this organization worked together to develop the Be Peace, Make Peace project, which continues to impact lives of children and youth.

During their Saturday meeting, delegates from the different regions came together to share updates, listen to new proposals for ministry, and vote for a new president. Please pray for the new board that was elected, as well as for Jader Ochoa who has completed his term as president and for Ximena Gonzalez who was elected as the new president. In the afternoon, Julio shared a brief teaching on Covenant Affirmations for the participants. And in the evening they celebrated together with a meal. These meetings are so important, not only for the decisions that are made, but for the opportunity for young adults from around the country to come together and spend time getting to know one another, sharing their experiences, challenges, and dreams. Pray for the youth and young adults in Colombia. Pray that God would build them up and use their gifts and talents to impact lives for the kingdom of God.

  1. I just saw this photo, and the truth fills me with melancholy and memories of this beautiful family called the pact, in this family I met great people who marked my life and my heart, today I am not with them, but their teachings and testimonies I have deep inside, I miss many, as I am doing now, when I see them gathered all tears come out of joy and pride to know that they have become wonderful people, I thank God for allowing me to meet them … I know that somewhere moment I will see them again and it will be a very special and significant moment for my life, I will be so happy that I don’t think I can hold my tears; and hopefully soon. Thank you for all the evangelical covenant family, for giving me everything I lived when I was with you. Greetings I am Hernando Maussa from the city of MonterĂa Colombia.
