This past month we have loved the opportunity to get together with small groups of friends to share a little taste of Colombia. While it might not be possible for everyone to take a trip to Colombia, this is a really simple way that they can enjoy some of the sights, sounds, and tastes of this beautiful country.
In Chicago we’re blessed to have lots of yummy bakeries and restaurants where we can get authentic Colombian treats. We also have a friend who makes some delicious arroz con pollo. So, our friends have opened up their homes and they’ve invited their friends and we’ve provided the food! It’s been a great opportunity for us to share more intimately about this country we love and it gives people a chance to ask questions and learn more about what makes Colombia so complex and beautiful.
In Minnesota there aren’t any Colombian bakeries, so with the help of my brother and sister-in-law we made homemade Colombian food! It turned out really good! We’ve had so much fun giving others a taste of Colombia. We have a few more coming up in the next couple months so if you’re interested in attending or if you’re interested in hosting one for your friends, let us know!!
