Students from rural AK begin fundraising for the next CHIC as soon as the students get home. For instance, the Covenant Church in the rural village of Unalakleet, AK will be sending about 25 students and 4 leaders to CHIC 2012. In July, these students will travel from their village to Anchorage, AK then to Chicago, IL where they will join up with other CHICsters from the Central Conference to travel by bus for the remainder of the trip to Knoxville, TN.

Their youth worker, Adam London, and many dedicated volunteers have coordinated about 10 rummage sales in the past 3 years among other sorts of fundraising efforts!

What sorts of fundraisers have you hosted? What has worked, what hasn’t?! Perhaps you’ve been greatly successful, would you consider how your church might partner with the folks from Unalakleet or another Alaskan village church or even a Covenant Church that isn’t that far from you?

Maybe you could consider beginning your fundraising efforts even earlier than you have before! Say, July 21, 2012?

Can’t you tell these guys are excited?
