I am so pleased to be serving you and all the wonderful women of the Covenant as the new leader of Women Ministries. I have to admit that there has been quite a mix of emotion in this new role, from sheer terror (what if I don’t know what to do?) to absolute joy (I love this)! I’m so glad to now be the one who moves us forward as we connect women in transformational relationships and unite them in Christ to impact our world! What a great job!

Connecting – Most every day I am thinking about you—yes, you—as someone engaged with Women Ministries. I’m considering how we can best serve you and the women of your church and your community—and the world. I want all the resources and support of Women Ministries to be available to you when you need them, so you can join with others to advance his Kingdom!

Uniting – I’m thinking about how we can unite with one another across generations and geography, and develop a vital conversation that will nurture and encourage each of us.I am eager to be with you locally and to get to know you on a more personal basis—to learn about your concerns and to see how we can partner together to meet the unique needs of women in your community. Do you deal with identity issues, understanding the Bible, healing from abuse or are you serious about fighting injustice? These are just a few of the things women of the Covenant are tackling today. What are you doing? And can you tell me about it?

Transforming – I truly believe Women Ministries is a vitally effective arm of the church that, when aligned with its unique vision and mission, can greatly amplify the ministry and reach. When that happens, the Kingdom of God gets bigger! What a great thing!

As the Covenant grows, Women Ministries must meet that growth—multiplying the efforts of our churches and serving in our specific capacity as we minister to the needs of women. Today in the Covenant we want to see more disciples among more populations in a more just and caring world. That’s where we’re going as a Covenant, and that’s where we’re going as women.

More disciples – We’re putting the finishing touches on The Leadership Connection (TLC), a training event for women leaders at every level. I’m praying that hundreds of women will get in on TLC. It’s being offered regionally at the fall retreats and locally—contact your ministry coach, or call our office at (773) 907-3332 to find out how you can have TLC in your church.

More just and caring world – I’m so grateful for the courageous leadership of Ruth Hill and so many who have pushed us to care for those with no voice—victims of abuse, those who are striving for a better life through education and those who are trapped in slavery. We must continue to advance these initiatives and seek God for the next thing he’s calling us to do. I vow to be faithful to this incredible legacy!

We need your help! – Please take a moment and consider making a gift to advance the vital causes Women Ministries is engaged in. Connect your heart with the hearts of women with your financial gift – you can’t make a better investment!

So thanks for staying in touch. Remember we are just an email or phone call away, and we’d like to help in any way we can, for we really are in it together!

Sincerely,
Meagan Gillan
