Advent: Anticipating Hope

This week my candle reminds me to prepare with hope.  As Christmas draws nearer, my hopes need to be centered on on God’s work in this world.  If I place my hope on my own abilities, my students or even governments I will be disappointed.  Hope, that does not disappoint. must be built on a solid foundation.  For me, that solid foundation is expressed in the book of Colossians, chapter 1, verse 27:

“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

My hope is built on Christ and the gift he brought to us through his life.   During Advent, with all the  preparations of food and decorations, I pray I will remember that my hope is based on the babe in the manager
