Science Practicals ….Practice makes Perfect?

One of the most time consuming activities for whoever is teaching Grade 10 students at RFIS is preparing them to take their IGCSE practical exam.  Our students take (mainly in 10th grade) externally set exams which are set by an examining board connected with Cambridge University.  These are very important for students whose passport countries are in Europe, Asia and other parts of Africa.  The science exam includes a practical component.

Students perform three experiments and analyze their results over a two hour period.  This involves using a lot of planning, as well as laboratory skills.  To help prepare students the students do a number of full practice exams throughout the second semester.
