Hi everyone! I’m looking forward to a new year and excited to be working with Serve Globally.
What are you looking forward to in the coming year?
I was asked to write a little something about myself for this newsletter. I was raised in Omaha, Nebraska—home of Cornhusker football, a top-rated zoo, and Runzas. My family is big. I have three brothers, two sisters, and seventeen nieces and nephews. Rooting for the Cornhuskers on game days were loud in our household.
I moved to Chicago to attend North Park College. After school, I started working for Covenant Offices, first in the Covenant Resource Center and then in Communications. I have enjoyed working with the ECC and the many people who have worked here—another large family!
I have never left Chicago since coming here for school. Each move in the city seems to keep me in the North Park neighborhood. There must be an invisible fence around North Park that keeps me in! After many years dreaming of owning a house, God has blessed me with a little bungalow.
When I’m not working, or taking care of my house I dream of where in the world to travel next. I have been blessed to see many places—some of those have been to our mission fields. I drink a lot of tea. Matcha is my favorite right now. I also enjoy reading, seeing movies, and hanging out with friends.
In this new year, I hope to connect with you and get to know you in some way.
Welcome, Evy! So excited to work with you again!!! Johnna
