Consultation of Covenant African church leaders

Today we start the first ever gathering of these leaders. We have leaders coming from:

  • la Communaute Evangelique de l’Ubangi-Mongala or Congo Covenant Church (CEUM)
  • the Evangelical Covenant Church of Kenya (ECCK)
  • the Evangelical Covenant Church of South Sudan (ECCSS)
  • South African Covenant Church
  • la Communaute Evangelique de l’Ubangi en Mission en Afrique (CEUMA)
  • la Cummunaute Evangelique du Christ (CEC) which was planted planted by the Swedish Covenant
  • l’Eglise Evangelique du Congo (Brazzaville) (EEC) which was planted by the Swedish Covenant
  • la Communaute des Eglises Baptists Unies (CEBU) in the Semendua area of Congo.  This church was planted by the Swedish Baptists who merged with the Swedish Covenant in 2011.
  • Gemensam Framtid (Joint Future) Church of Sweden.  This is the new denomination formed after the merger of the Swedish Covenant, Swedish Baptists and Swedish Methodist denominations.
  • the Evangelical Covenant Church of the US and Canada

Following 3 days of meetings, Mon-Wed, in Mombasa where we will get to know each other and reflect on the Opportunities and Challenges before the Church in Africa, we will visit several churches and ministries in Kenya before departing. This kind of meeting has been a dream of ours for over 6 years and it is finally coming about.

We ask you to pray for the upcoming Consultation of leaders of the denominations started by the US, Swedish and Taiwanese Covenant churches in Africa..  Pray for:

  • deep connections between the leaders
  • the speaker as he addresses worldview issues that are a challenge to the church
  • a sense of God’s presence throughout
