Dear Friends and Family,
We are thankful for where we are right now and how God has provided – especially for being close to our son Josh and his family and how well our son Sam and his family are doing way out in Spokane, WA. Please pray for Sam & his family as they have just learned that they may not be able to rent the house that had been promised them for the year. Please pray for the Wycliffe missionary family who owns the home as they face a very serious family complication.
Please pray for journey mercies and good connections with supporting churches; we will be in California for most of September. Aleta will be doing 3 women’s retreats and would appreciate prayer for her long solo presentations, not exactly her cup of tea, though she is thankful for the opportunity to share!
We’d appreciate continued prayer for Benoit back at Gamboula as he carries the load and keeps everything ag-wise going. Our truck, generator, and solar panels for the ag project, funded by gifts to FOWM, are in Douala, Cameroon, waiting for the customs free papers to be processed. Please pray that all would go well and speedily so we don’t have to pay rental space as the shipping container waits there in port.
Please also keep our Fulani buddies in your prayers, that they would understand God’s amazing gift for them. Please pray for our missionary colleagues as they minister among them.
An urgent need for a high school math/science teacher was just made known to us. Both of our sons attended this high school and received a very good education there, thanks to the teachers and supportive community. Without an education ministry like this, many missionaries would not be able to continue their work once their children reach middle school and high school.
Here is the info we received from Carolyn Stoker, at Rain Forest International School in Yaounde, Cameroon: “One of our science/math teachers at RFIS has had to return to the US for family reasons. This has left a gaping hole, that is really not possible to fill from within and as Head of the Science Department this is weighing heavily on me. Please pray that God would provide an experienced Science and Math teacher, who has a passport, and is available immediately to come to Cameroon. If you know of someone in this position who might be available until Christmas please let them know of this need. In my mind, a retired person, who is self supporting would be perfect.
Please write if you have suggestions and above all lift this matter to the Lord in prayer. Please also pray for my friend and colleague who is back in the US dealing with a very difficult family situation. She needs prayer that she would know the support of her Heavenly Father.
Expectantly waiting for God’s provision, – Carolyn”
Blessings,
Roy & Aleta
