Mom

I (Aleta) am in California, finally, for a long awaited placement of a dental implant.  I need to be here for 3 weeks, so we arranged that I would give Roy’s sis and bro-in-love a couple of weekends away, after caring for Mom 24/7 for 1.5 years now.  What a bright smile of surprise and love showed up on her face when I walked up to her!  Mom has been such a blessing to me, pretty much taking the place of my mom who passed away when I was 23.  I am thrilled to be able to be a part of her care, she is the sweetest, most compliant and content Alzheimer’s patient you could ever hope to meet.  It is a privilege to care for her.

Lynn and Tim are with their son, Ryan, and daughter-in-law, Rachel this weekend, which happens to be Tim’s birthday and their anniversary.  Tim has been an amazing and loving, fulltime caretaker for Mom.  I’m excited for them and their time away!  Happy birthday and happy anniversary, Tim & Lynn!  Be blessed!!

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
