August has flown by, full of Zoom meetings and reports, working on our new home and yard, and of course enjoying doing life with our kids and grandkids right next door. We have been able to join in on many Sunday church services, virtually. It’s actually great to be able to go to church in Michigan and then 3 hours later fellowship with your church family in California! There are many things to be thankful for even during this crazy Covid era.
We will be driving to California next week, starting on Wednesday. We normally go to Calif. in September while on home assignment in the states, so we had gone ahead and made dental appointments for Aleta, never dreaming Covid would reassemble our lives like this. We are needing to take care of some stored items, hauling them back to Indiana AND last but never least, we get to see Mom. She’s 93 now, and still as sweet as ever in spite of her Alzheimer’s. Driving minimizes our contact with people, so we feel okay, as long as we are very careful as we travel. We’ll stay with Aleta’s bro and sis-in-love in Colorado for a day’s rest along the way, and we look forward to being with them. We are thankful we have wheels! Thank you for your prayers for us as we drive 35 hours, split in 3 days’ drive.
