Church and hospital goodbyes

I am undone, overwhelmed with being loved.  So many people saying thank you.  Hugs and tears and breaking your heart words of love and encouragement, about our 21 years in CAR and about Dad’s passing away, emotions running in deep rivers, not to swamp over me, but to carry me through to Thursday, when we get in the car to begin our journey to leave CAR and all of central Africa definitively.  Words to carry me through with memories to last a lifetime. Verses like Hebrews 6:10 quoted for us. Oh, how we have been blessed, with friendships and work to do, with time enough to be encouraging and to be encouraged.  God has stretched us with plenty of challenges but has always been at our side, in our hearts, through it all.  All we can say is thank you.  Thank you to the ones who are thanking us, especially for being our family on this side of the ocean.  Thank you to all of you, on the other side of the ocean, who have helped carry us all these years with your prayers and support.  Thanks be to the Lord, the one who gives the gifts, creates the people, and allows us to choose.  He allows us to choose to become more like Him, to seek Him in happy times and hard times.  Our hearts are full to overflowing.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
