This truck has gotten us through plenty of horrible road situations
Transport in this place is not easy to find
We have been blessed by the gift of this wonderful, now old, pick-up for about 16 years. Covenant Women funded the purchase of this Toyota Hilux, back in 2002, and asked that it be dedicated to helping women and children. Over the years we could not count the number of rides given, goods and belongings transported, and visits to villages made. If only you could have personally heard the thanks spoken, oftentimes with qualifying statements like, “without that ride, our sister would have died” or “without the meds you brought from Yaounde, I would still be seriously ill”. This truck made it possible for Aleta to make her twice weekly visits to her Fulani/Muslixm friends across the river border into Cameroon for the now 5 years since all Muslixms were chased out of CAR. This truck made it possible for us get quickly out of harm’s way during evacuations and troubles, and provided a safe and reliable way to get to and fro no matter the reason. We are so thankful to have had the use of it, and are now, as we retire from CAR missions, passing it on for the use of Covenant missionaries in DRC. May the Lord bless it and all travels made with it, and may it last for another 16 years!
