Thankful for Jaydene’s help

Jaydene, the volunteer we wrote about last month, has agreed to come one or two days each week to help supervise and manage the project while we’re in CAR.  This will be a relief to Roy and a great help to the main farm manager, Zweli, who sometimes can have his hands full with other farm tasks.  She’ll be able to make sure things are weeded and watered, which will free up time for taking Zweli out to the schools where Roy & he planted fruit trees with kids and teachers last year.  She’s already got this Wednesday on her schedule for going out to the townships.  We heard that Zweli had to urge her to go home a bit early at the end of the day because a big rain storm was coming.  She wanted to stay and finish what she was doing. We just found out that she got excited about doing community work having to do with sharing God’s love through agriculture and environment as a result of hearing Roy talk at a young people’s bible study a couple of years ago.  What a gift, to be able to have her as a help at the Back 2 Eden project!

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
