Over the course of a few weeks, we watched this little viola send out one, two, three beautiful flowers, in spite of having its roots in the crease of the cement of the front steps.
At the same time we were watching these three budding beauties growing, blossoming, most of the time joyful and loving, some of the time not so much so – just like any kids anywhere. It filled my heart with joy to be able to be there, to live life with them, and to understand how to pray for them, to hope that their roots will sink deep into good soil and water as they turn into young women who want to love the Lord. To continue to pray that they will bloom in spite of difficulties, maybe even because of difficulties as it helps them develop character. It was hard this morning to leave these little ones, but I am so thankful for our time together AND thankful for email and phone connections that get better all the time.
