Happy Mother’s Day

A Mother’s Day smile (Maia) sent from JoshKimiafam in Indiana

When I think of the moms that I know, I’m blown away at the love that abounds, at all the differences in mothering styles, at the children who have grown up so well under the care of these nurturers.   I am thankful for my two moms, for the unconditional love and joy in life that they gifted me with.

My mom on her wedding day

I am so very fortunate to have a mom, still living, who loves the Lord with all her heart has been a mentor to me all my adult life.

I am thankful for so many others who have listened and cared over the years, be they younger or older, sister or friend, providing mothering to me.  I am thankful for my two daughters-in-love, Kimia and Anna, for their whole hearted, fly in the face of anything that is not right for their children life attitudes, for the honor that blesses my heart every time I hear them call me “Mom” though I did not birth them.   I am thankful for my sons, who made me a mom, who openly love their wives and me.  Most of all I am thankful that these precious ones love the Lord and follow him.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
