Swedish medical visitors

We have a group of 8 Swedish visitors here with us, all medical young people; 6 are doctors, at various stages of internship and residency, 1 is a nurse, and leading the group is Dr. Isak B., who was here at Gamboula with his family in 2008-2009.  There are 3 missionary kids, all grown up, in the group: Viktoria Silfverdal, Magdalena Forsberg, and David Nestor.  We have had the privilege of working with or at least being acquainted with their families and it is very encouraging to get to know a little bit about all 7 of these budding doctors and nurse, and to hear their hopes of maybe working in Africa someday.  During their stay with us they will be working at the hospital, visiting various health centers and medical work out in the villages, as well as seeing what’s going on in other ministries such as Fulani outreach and the CEFA ag development project.

It was so fun to witness Viktoria and Magdalena interacting with Fulani friends who know them from their childhoods here.

We had a wonderful time the other night when they came out to the farm for a tour and supper.  Please pray for this whole team, for health and safety and a very positive experience during their visit.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
