We’ve had some requests to hear more about Back 2 Eden or B2E, so I thought I’d use our daughter-in-law’s wonderful description which follows:
We’re pretty excited about what God is doing through Roy and Aleta through B2E. Genesis ministries are only about 10 years old and so far, the ministries have mostly been responsive to immediate community needs (caring for the sick, counseling, etc). It is somewhat new to add proactive ministries with a stronger evangelical and discipleship element (such as Sam’s job training and discipleship at Titus Auto Centre or what Roy is doing now with agriculture development and evangelism).
Back 2 Eden is based out of the farm we live on. The farm is owned by a South African family that is involved in other Genesis ministries. They have decided to use their farm for ministry, so Roy is developing it into the base for B2E using some initial funding from friends in the States. Over the last couple of years, he has started to import the most nutrient-rich plants and fruit trees that he has been gathering from around the world the last few decades. He is developing the farm manager (Zweli) in ag knowledge and discipleship, which has already been a pretty incredible journey. Roy has also begun networking with key people in our community to get a feel for how best to assess the needs and reach the community through ag development and evangelism. The response has been very positive.
We see an incredible amount of potential for this ministry to grow, as affirmed by the community and our leadership here.
Pictured here with us and Samfam are Gary & Lynn Brackley, dear friends and the farm owners mentioned above.
