Earlier last year, the tunnel went up, the soon to be home of many baby fruit trees. The bars and straps and most of the shade cloth went up,
and the original plan was for the last portion of it to be covered in plastic. Roy rethought that idea and decided that he really wanted shadecloth over all! Lynn and Gary pulled their sewing machine out of storage and sewed two wide strips together
and then I climbed up on scaffolding in order to hand sew those pieces onto the main frame. FYI, the fencing on the end of the tunnel is to keep the monkeys out! Those critters tried to wipe out a whole section of papaya seedlings!
And here you have it, shade and wind protection for all those baby trees! The white section lets in a bit more sunlight for the plants that need more. It is so cool to see dreams coming true. The Back to Eden project is on its way!
