My sibs, Paul, Janet, & Kristen, came for a short and delightful visit. Maddie and I picked them up at Union Station in Chicago and we were hosted by dear friends, Rog & Eileen Thorpe for a night before driving back to Indiana. Why not just make the short 2 hour trip the same day, you ask? Paul especially wanted to visit the Art Institute! While waiting for the museum to open we visited Millenial Park to see the giant silver mirror jellybean
and of course were mesmerized by the crazy reflections – shortened, two headed, whatever!
Paul & Janet were sweet to be around, they are such a tender caring couple, an inspiration to remember to pay attention to your spouse’s goings-on! Here Paul’s helping to shade the camera as Janet snaps a photo for a honeymooning couple from Europe.
Flying in Georgia O’Keefe’s Sky over Clouds…Paul and our sister Ralleau and I used to play a game called Masterpiece, and most of the art in the game is hanging there in Chicago. It was great fun to walk through part of the Art Institute and get excited about the familiar pieces, to see them up close and be amazed at the creativity and detail and work that went into each one.
In Plymouth the Grand Aunties & Uncle connected wonderfully with the girls
Janet really liked our little sun room, knitting away and enjoying the light and the plants.
We spent hours playing and sharing, and in spite of the snow and cold visited Josh’s school and a bit of Amish country. We are so thankful these three made the trip! Thanks, Paul, Janet, and Kris. We are blessed that we are good friends with our family in this crazy fragmented world.
