On to Denver for Applewood Church and Fafu!

From Montrose to Denver you have to cross the Rockies, and oh what gorgeous scenery our God treated us to!  It has been 3.5 years since we’ve been in the snow, so Roy had to hold some.  You can probably guess what he did with that handful after the picture was taken, right?

blog colo???????????????????????????????

We have a friend from Congo missions, who lives in the Denver area.  We still call him Fafu, which he was named by one of the missionary kids at Loko, where we worked together in the ’90’s.  Kind of a far stretch from Robert, his actual name, but I do love nick names!!!  It was great to catch up with him.

We didn’t get a photo at Applewood church, but we were blessed and really enjoyed our time with them.  We don’t have our usual video prepared yet, and they were patient and kind with our ramblings!  They treated us to a delicious potluck and then we took off, at about 2pm to head as far east as we could without falling asleep at the wheel, on the way to duh duh de duh!!!! Plymouth Indiana and the grandkids!!!  One night in Nebraska, and we got there Monday evening at 5:30!

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
