Visas applied for, please pray

Our plans for visiting missionary colleagues in Mozambique flew out the window with the advent of the Covid19 pandemic.  We had not only hoped to catch up with our buddies, the Vianas, but we wanted to renew our South African visas.  Thankfully the minister of Home Affairs, during a panel discussion addressing all the facets of effects of the virus, reassured all foreign nationals holding visas that they (we) are part of the community, and that visa renewals will be facilitated, even those that wouldn’t usually be renewed, like ours, which have already had a 3 month extension added.  We normally would have had to leave the country for a period of time, but because we are to stay put, we have turned in our applications and now await the results.  Our son Sam and his family are currently applying for visas as well, for longer term than ours.  We would appreciate your prayers for these, that our passports all would soon hold the precious permission to stay legally in this country.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
