Ramaata passed away

I will miss this friend, she was as sweet hearted as a person could be.  All she ever wanted was to please people and to have babies.  She succeeded in her servant heart role, but because of her sickness, she never had children.  She was in the midst of cancer treatment, had completed chemo and was waiting on the repair of the only radiation machine in Cameroon, when she was overcome by the disease.  I loved this woman, who helped me with translation work many many years ago.  After all our Fulani friends had to leave CAR, she married an older man and lived just across the river from us.  When she was out of town, sometimes visiting family but usually for treatment for her chronic illness, if he saw me, he would dial up her number on his phone and hand it to me so I could talk to her.  She had asked for, and received, a bible a few months ago, and then just recently our colleagues at Gamboula gave her a bible in Arabic script fulfulde – much easier for her to read.  I can only hope and pray that the Messiah revealed himself to her through dreams and the Word.  Please pray for her nephew and her hubby and her family, that they would be saved.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
