Please pray for the Central African Republic

Map courtesy of ICDI

Please pray for this country we’re living in.  Pray for peace!  The peace accord did not last long!  The orange circles on cities on the map indicate towns we believe have been taken by the rebels just now, and we have word that they intend to take the capital. Read about it by clicking on CAR news to the right.

Please do not be overly concerned for our safety, we are WAY OVER in the far west, in Gamboula, indicated by the purple circle.  We are a mere 20 minutes’ drive from the border, and are prepared to leave in a big hurry if the need arises.  Please do pray for us, but we don’t want you to worry too much.  We have many contacts nearby and in different cities in the country who are keeping us up to date on what is really happening.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
