NYC Protests Story Tops January’s Most-Read List

CHICAGO, IL (February 9, 2012) – The arrests of Evangelical Covenant Church pastors and others who were protesting New York City’s plans to evict all churches meeting in public schools was the most-read Covenant News Service story in January.

As a result of the initial protests, interest in the issue has intensified. Since then, the state’s Senate has approved a measure that would overturn the city’s decision. The bill is being considered in the New York State House of Representatives and would then need to go to the governor for his signature.
