Imagine the air filled with squeals of laughter. Now, look around and you will see dozens of children laughing and playing. What’s the reason for all of this joy??? It’s new playground equipment! Yes, the Melanie Center in Beira just received several new pieces of playground equipment. The favorites are of course the swinging Crocodile (who doesn’t love that?!?) and the merry-go-round!
This equipment doesn’t just bring joy and laughter to the children of the Melanie Center it draws in many of the children from the surrounding community as well. This playground is the only one in our little community of 5000 families and will be well used! This is just one more way in which we help our community to be whole and healthy.
Special thanks go out to all of the friends and family and teachers who have made this playground possible with their kind donations. You folks know the value of joy and laughter in the life of a child.
This is the first of two playgrounds that are being built. The second playground will go to the Melanie Center in Chimoio, which at this time has had no play equipment for it’s children. I can hardly wait to see their little faces and hear the laughter! We’ll keep you posted!
