You know how everyone seems to dread the very thought of support raising??? It can seem so hard, so humbling to continually be asking your friends and family for their support. Why is it so difficult to be in this place of humility? It seems to go against our independent American nature. We’re the cowboys! We like doing things “our way”.
However, I’m not sure this is what God really calls us to. I believe he calls us to be connected, to be interdependent. Ephesians 4 talks about how we are to be doing this in one another’s lives. It says that we are ” being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies”. We were created to hold each other together. We were made for this! Let’s live into it with joy!
So, how are we as a family doing at this??? Oddly enough we are LOVING it! This has become a wonderful opportunity to spend time with friends and family sharing all that God has done and is about to do in our lives. It’s become a chance to be encouraged and prayed for! We’ve had the opportunity to hear what has been happening in their lives and to see God at work in others. It’s been amazing! So, for those of you who we’ve already spoken to … THANK YOU! You have been a blessing. And, for those of you still waiting patiently … we can hardly wait to get together!
Oh, and a special thank you to my sweet friend Mary who took these sweet pictures.
