Things got a little heated in the stands at this year’s Sugar Bowl between Oklahoma and Alabama. As we see in the video… one woman had enough and went after hecklers in a hilarious moment captured on a phone’s camera and set to Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball. When the video first came out everyone assumed that this was just a case of two drunk fans at a football game. But, when a reporter finally caught up with the woman he learned that she was not intoxicated, she was in fact defending her son from the over-the-top heckling aimed directly at him. So what you see in the video isn’t a crazed fan defending her team. It’s a mom who had heard enough and was defending her son. In 1 Timothy 5, the Apostle Paul says this. “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”The question for each of us seeing that video and knowing it was a mom defending her son is, “What’s our trigger for going mama bear to defend our family?”

3 Questions:
1. Have you ever lost control and gone off on someone like in the video?
2. When was a time when your actions were totally misunderstood?
3. Would you rather be the one who goes off to defend a family member or be the family member defended?
Chew on this:
Do you think the mom in the video acted appropriately or inappropriately?
