Nehemiah’s Urban Impact – Summer Trips (destination: Madison, WI)

Week long Trips: June – August 2014

Cost: $400 per participant

The community of Madison, its urban communities specifically, present a number of challenges (poverty, segregation, education-achievement gaps, drug abuse).  Nehemiah is an organization that works in connection with Fountain of Life Covenant Church on Madison’s South Side, and what sets Nehemiah apart from other great organizations’ ideas for support is that we work hard to build the relationships – across cultural and racial boundaries that often exist.  Through outings and service projects, Nehemiah’s Urban Impact sets up visiting students and Madison’s own residents to develop quality friendships within a short amount of time.

Urban Impact Teams will *”move into the neighborhood”* for the week, staying at a local community center with showers and full service kitchens. Our Urban Impact teams will be working with Nehemiah’s youth programming team, participating in service projects, and engaging in a missional living style of Spiritual Formation.
