2021 The Start of a New Year

2021… How many of you are walking by faith?  How many of you feel that you have no idea how this year is going to pan out; how to make plans for this week, this month??? Do you feel like you are walking blindly? You have an idea, a desire, a calling.  You know where you need to end up.  But are you patient in waiting for the process to get there? Are you patient in waiting for doors to open? Do you try to plan absolutely everything out before you even say ‘let’s go’? Do you just start driving knowing that you need to to get going and that you will discover the passable roads, and the direction along the way. Are you compelled and convicted?

I want to encourage all of you to take that step, that leap of faith this year.  No matter what it looks like.  A new course, a new way to attend university. A new way to love on your neighbour amidst COVID19 restrictions.  A new way to partner in missions; local or global.   We are not alone and usually what is already prepared for us and waiting, is far greater than anything we could have ever imagined.

I couldn’t have imagined calling Argentina, a country 11,000km away, a different culture, a different language; HOME.  But it is, and I am so grateful for the peace and confirmation of this.  I am currently in Nelson, BC awaiting processes and paperwork to be able to return home. I admit that I don’t always wait patiently.  I had hoped to be able to visit all of you; and I have been able to connect with several churches and friends here.  Zoom, FaceTime, video calls… technology has been a blessing. I pray that I will be able to connect with many more of you before I head back to Argentina.  And even when I am there; that we would continue conversations and connections.

Ministry in Argentina continues while I am in Canada of course.  January was a month of baptisms.  Just a reminder that it is summer there!  New churches are being brought into the Covenant fold and rural outreach was able to begin again as restrictions lifted.

I am so excited to get back to Argentina and share even more with all of you about these ministries and how we could partner!  I welcome and for opportunities to  zoom, Skype or have a call with you!  Please contact me and we can arrange something. I also have a video that I can share with your church if you like. I am excited to share that God still, very strongly and firmly, calls me to serve him in Argentina.  My new home.  The current plan is to return home to Bariloche, Argentina as soon as possible. Obviously God has other ideas and plans since I’m still in Canada.  I am excited about the new conversations with Serve Global and IPEA and the ECCC (Evangelical Covenant Church of Canada) and how much closer we are all working together!

I am only waiting for some miscellaneous items for Serve Global to complete, borders and immigration papers, and then I will have a date of travel to share with you all!  Everything is ready to ship and meet me there.  I am ready to travel at a moment’s notice.

I am almost 100% funded so please continue to consider financially supporting God’s Kingdom work in Argentina.  For those of you already supporting, would you extend your commitment of support?  Monthly, annual and one time donations are all a huge blessing in this work.  Thank you, these words are so insignificant to what I actually feel.  Thank you for partnering with me; for allowing this work to continue and expand.

I have a Kindle Wish list that I have been asked to share; and appreciate the support in this way too. Thank you everyone!

Most Importantly – Thank you all for your prayers and support.  I have been encouraged, uplifted and affirmed in my calling to serve in Argentina.  I am grateful for the texts, notes and emails of encouragement; and sharing about your lives back here.  Thank you for taking those moments to send off a word to me.  Or to any missionary.  It is so very important that we are reminded of those praying for us.

May we continue to experience the hope and peace that He has for us.  This hope and peace that we can’t fully explain.  I know I can’t explain this peace I have in my heart now; but I know it’s there.
