Hydi and I had the privilege of attending the Covenant Asia Missionary Retreat in Chantaburi, Thailand last week! We flew from Colorado Springs to Bangkok via LA and Tokyo on Feb. 13th and after a late night arrival and overnight in Bangkok we traveled by car to Chantaburi the next morning. We joined 70 some other attendees including Covenant missionaries and their children from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, China, and Mongolia, guests from ECC in the US, a special speaker from India and a child care team from Alaska!

We were together for 6 days and enjoyed times of worship, fellowship, field reports and testimonials. We also enjoyed kayaking, snorkeling, swimming and shoping, all interspersed with great Thai cuisine. See some pics here: http://www.pbase.com/revdocjim/asia_retreat09

The trip home was a long one. We left the Bangkok hotel at 4AM on Friday and arrived home 31 hours later. We had planned on attending Kendra and Miles’ basketball games that evening but due to a 2 hour delay out of Narita (another story in itself!) and subsequent missed connection in Seattle we didn’t get home until 9PM, and missed both games… (They both won anyway!)

We had a fantastic time and thank all who made our trip possible. And yes, the weather was really warm; a real change from the previous week in Chicago!!!
