This year was especially meaningful to witness the graduation of 32 students from the Biblical Seminary of Colombia, with their BAs in Theology. Julio and I were privileged to have had many of them as students. Several of my students from the two online courses I, Katie, taught in the first semester were among the ones to graduate. I’d only ever met them online, so it was pure joy to meet them in person and celebrate this huge accomplishment with them. It also meant the world to hear how the course I created and taught, Children’s Ministry, impacted their lives and ministry. One of the students thanked me and said everything he learned has served them as they are planting a new church and he has been able to develop a holistic children’s ministry.
One of the students, Henry, who Julio has walked alongside during his research and presentation of his thesis, also graduated. We thank God for his life and for his desire to support and learn from the Embera Katio Community.
We also witnessed 4 students who graduated with their Master’s in Theology, the first students to graduate from this new program. Several were friends and one of them had graduated with Julio from the undergrad program 20 years ago. Wow! God is good!
